Hobby Master F-4 PhantomHA1943 McDonnell Douglas F-4F Phantom II 37+01 “First In – Last Out”, Seriennummer 72-1111 “Phantom Pharewell” Wittmund 29th June 2013.

The McDonnell Douglas F-4 was the main multipurpose aircraft for the US Military for 20 years.The F-4E variant was an improved version of the C/D with an elongated nose and compact radar.These two things made it possible to install a 20mm M61A1 6 barrel 640 round Vulcan gun pod inthe nose. The F-4E was the most produced variant with 1387 aircraft being made over its 12 yearproduction period. The E also equipped more air forces than any other variant of the Phantom II.

On June 29, 2013 a ceremony was held at Wittmund AB, Germany to say farewell to the last F-4Phantom II in the Luftwaffe. The aircraft had a special paint scheme called First In  Last Outalong with Phantom Pharewell emblazoned along the fuselage sides. F-4F 37+01 serial 72-1111 took its maiden flight on May 18, 1973 and thereby becoming Germanys first and last F-4.This celebration marked 40 years of Phantom II service with the Luftwaffe that operated 175 ofthese aircraft and in which more than 1,000 pilots had flown.
